The Tajik language (Тоҷикӣ / تاجیکی [tɔdʒiˈki]) is one of the Western Iranian Indo-European languages. It is a living language with ISO 639 code [tgk] or [tg].
Tajik is spoken by Tajiks. This language is distributed in Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. The total of speakers is about 8'400'000 (native and second).
Cyrillic script (Tajik alphabet) and Arabic script (Persian alphabet) are used for writing.
