The Mongolian language (ᠮᠣᠩᠭᠣᠯ ᠬᠡᠯᠡ / монгол хэл [mɔŋɢɔ̆ɮ xeɮ]) is one of the Central Mongolic languages. It is a living macrolanguage with ISO 639 code [mon] or [mn].
Mongolian is spoken by Mongols. This language is distributed in Mongolia and China (Inner Mongolia). The total of speakers is about 4'600'000 (native) and about 6'000'000 (native and second).
Mongolian script and Cyrillic script (Mongolian alphabet) are used for writing.
